Guild Rules
Behavior
  • Be respectful at any social gathering.
There will be individuals that you may or may not like. We are not asking you to like everyone, but we do insist that you are respectful of others.
If you have a problem with someone, be mature about it and do not resort to personal attacks.
This goes for the entire WoW community, not just in the guild.

  • Try to help out fellow guildies.
You do not have to drop everything to help someone, but please do your best.
If a guildie is getting camped by horde, go help them if you are free. If someone needs help with a hard quest or boss, and you are free, help them out.
Most importantly, answer your guildies if they ask a question in guild chat. If they say hi, greet them back.
Every member of this guild is important, and they should all be treated with respect.

  • Listen to the Generals and Senior Raiders.
If they are saying something, you can rest assured that it is not for their benefit, but for the guilds.

  • If you have a problem with a guild member DO NOT broadcast it to rest of the guild.
Try to resolve the problem in Whisper. If you can't resolve the problem contact a General or Senior Raider to have it settled.
If you continue to broadcast your issue you might be dropped from the guild.

  • Have a sense of humor and HAVE FUN!!!

  • Monitor the guild chat channel and keep it respectful and profanity-free.
Sexually explicit chat is not tolerated, neither is chat that may make other players feel uncomfortable because of their gender, race, nationality or religion.
If someone breaks these rules it is your duty to ask them to stop. If they do not stop please contact a guild officer as soon as possible.
Keep conflicts off of the guild chat as they disrupt other player’s experience. If you have a problem with a guild member, ask an officer to help you (or open a complaint ticket with a Wow GM).
The same rules apply to Ventrilo conversations.

  • Do not spam the guild chat channel.
It prevents other players from communicating.
Do not spam any non-guild channels as this is against Wow rules.

  • Do not beg for money or items either in the guild or out of the guild.
It reflects poorly on the guild and may result in prompt dismissal.

  • Do not cheat.
Do not use fishing bots, game hacks, speed hacks or buy or sell gold using your credit card.
If you are unsure what cheating is, please refer to the WOW official homepage.

  • Be a “Team Raider”.
Show up to raids on time.
During a battle, do not try to lead. Let THE RAID LEADER lead the battle and talk in Ventrilo.
Do what the raid leader says.
DO NOT TALK IN VENTRILO DURING A BATTLE UNLESS ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY (for example to announce additional agro). Players will make mistakes if they cannot hear the leader because everyone is talking.
If you have suggestions, keep them for in-between battles. We will have potty breaks.
DO NOT GO AFK in between breaks unless absolutely necessary. DO NOT GO AFK without warning the leader, this may result in being booted from the raid.
Be tolerant of other players mistakes.

  • DO NOT BELITTLE or CRITICIZE other players or the raid leader.
If you have a suggestion, please take it to whispers.
Familiarize yourself with looting rules and battles before the raid starts. Ask questions when unfamiliar.
Keep in mind that leading a raid is hard and can get stressful. The leader must communicate instructions while playing their own character and while others are sending them tons of whispers.
Be happy for your team-mates when they win epic items, remember that when your guild mates get stronger this benefits you.

Looting
  • Do not loot steal.
    5-man, 10-man:
Do not hit that “need” button unless you are POSITIVE that it’s ok to do so.
If you are unsure, you MUST ask.
If a mistake is made and you steal an item from another guild member, you may be asked to pay that guild member whatever that item costs on the AH.
You may also be booted from the guild if you keep stealing or do not pay the average AH price.

    25-man:
The Raid Leader will be assigning a Master Looter.

  • Non-epic looting guidelines.
    5-man, 10-man:
On a non-epic run, always ask your team what looting rules will be used. If no rules are stated then the guild rules are to be followed.
You can hit “greed” on all GREEN non-BOP items.
All blue and purple drops are rolled for, the only exception is if everyone agrees that it should go to a particular player or they don't want it.
On Bonechewer server, in 5-man runs, do not hit “need” for jewelry or trinkets or reputation items, always ask how your party wishes to handle those drops.
If you are partying with a group of strangers and someone is “needing” when they shouldn’t, demand to use the master loot function.

    25-man:
The Master Looter will give all green and blue drops that are not needed to a designed disenchanter who will disenchant these items and put the mats in the guild bank.

  • Mortis EPIC runs looting rules.
    5-man, 10-man:
It is the Raid Leader’s Responsibility to communicate and Enforce our loot rules and/or use the Master Loot function as needed when there are non-guild members in the raid. “Pass” on all PURPLE items and wait for the raid leader to instruct you to /roll for that item.

    25-man:
The Mortis Guild uses a DKP (dragon kill points) system (dkp.php).
We feel that the people who are most present in our raids and progression runs should have priority over other members who just joined and just started raiding with us.

  • You may NOT roll for an item if:

    - You want the item for another character or person.
YOU MAY NOT ROLL FOR A FRIEND, ANOTHER GUILD MEMBER OR AN ALT CHARACTER.

    - You want the item but the raid leader does not feel you should have rolled.
The raid leader has the authority to make the final call between two players if a dispute arises.
Perhaps you were disconnected and offline for the duration of the fight. Perhaps you are wearing an equivalent purple item and rolling against another guild member who is wearing blues and needs it more. Perhaps you brought a guild alt character and are rolling against a guild main.
The guild officers will support the raid leader’s decision with the understanding that the raid leader can be under a lot of pressure and may sometimes make mistakes.

    - How to roll for reputation items (for example Bijous) will be decided on a per-run basis depending on how many people want reputation with that faction.
It is the raid-leader’s responsibility to communicate how to roll for these items.

  • The Mortis guild reserves the right to dismiss any player at any time for any reason and without notice. Breaking the rules, repeat drama, negative attitude and greedy behavior can all result in dismissal with or without warning.
